Fresh off perhaps his best performance in a Galaxy uniform, Galaxy midfielder Dema Kovalenko has been nominated for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week award. With LA leading 1-0 late in the first half, Kovalenko's broke the Columbus defense, and following some neat interplay between Dema, Jovan and Landon and slotted a shot underneath William Hesmer for the eventual game-winning goal.You can see the goal (and all of the other nominees) and vote for your favorite here.
About 15 minutes before Kovalenko put LA up 2-0, Donovan Ricketts made the save of the night, stopping the Crew's Steven Lenhart on a breakaway, keeping the score 1-0. That save has now been nominated for the NAPA Save of the Week award, an honor that Ricketts claimed back in Week 10 of this season.
