Omar To Miss Tilt In New England
Major League Soccer today determined that Omar Gonzalez has accumulated five yellow cards and will serve an automatic one-game suspension.
MLS determined that Gonzalez received his fifth yellow card in the 84th minute of the game against Real Salt Lake on June 9, but the referee’s match report mistakenly listed Todd Dunivant as the recipient of that yellow card. MLS requested that U.S. Soccer review the June 9 match, and as a result of that review, the referee corrected his report to reflect Gonzalez as the recipient.
Gonzalez will serve his one-game suspension this Saturday when the Galaxy play the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium. Dunivant has received one yellow card this season.
