With all this technology, why haven't we invented a 29 hour day?

Can I pretty please just have 8 undisturbed hours in the house to get shit done before Christmas? Please? With sugar on it? This is my fondest, sincerest Christmas wish. I'd ask Santa for it but it would come too late. Maybe I can ask the Sandman to give me a whole night without needing to sleep so I can spend it in the throes of unbridled wrapping, baking and cleaning. Killmenow...
