Surat Terbuka Seorang Warga Malaysia Untuk Indonesia
Penulis surat bernama Idzan Ismail, asal Kelana Jaya, Selangor Malaysia. Berikut kutipkan versi alsi dan terjemahnya:TOMORROW, we celebrate Merdeka, and the symbol of sovereignty and our pride — the Jalur Gemilang — has been stamped on, burnt and spat at by citizens of our supposedly closest neighbour. Not only did they storm our embassy, they threw faeces into its compound.
It hurts so bad that Indonesians, whom we regard as Muslim brothers, are doing it in the holy month of Ramadan — in a fortnight we’ll be celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri — a month of goodwill and forgiveness. The nationalistic People’s Defence of Democracy (Bendera) is growing bolder by the day. Similar demonstrations were held in Bandar Aceh and Pekanbaru in Sumatra.
This is the same group which threatened to attack us with sticks and stones last year over our alleged ill-treatment of Indonesian maids. This time it was about our supposed cruelty towards the three Indonesian maritime officers detained by our authorities on Aug 13.
Bendera is on a “Ganyang Malaysia” rampage, shouting “Malingsia” (Maling is “thief” in Javanese). It even had the audacity to threaten to shave the heads of our people there before deporting them home.
It’s clear that there are underlying issues that caused them to act with such bravado.
The group would not have had the gumption to protest outside the Petronas office and CIMB-Niaga Bank there without the tacit approval of some unseen hands.
Things are beginning to surface, with politicians and members of parliament of both sides of the Indonesian political divide supporting the movement. They are demanding that their government cut all diplomatic and trade ties with us. Their media are fanning the anti-Malaysia sentiment.
One wonders why the protesters were not tear-gassed for trying to ram our embassy barricade. Some arrests were made but they were all released.
We have been noble in not retaliating in our country. It’s a wise move because we do not want the backlash of the two million Indonesians, legal and illegal, in our country. But how long can we exercise self-restraint? I fear we being nice is seen as a weakness.
I worry for the safety of Malaysians there. We must recall our ambassador, embassy staff and evacuate all our students and other Malaysians there. Let them celebrate Hari Raya in peace and calm.
We must also stop visiting Indonesia for the time being. When things are more peaceful, they can go back to Indonesia.
The protests are nothing more than an arrogant display of who is bigger and stronger. It may be an empty threat and probably poses no immediate risk to our citizens but our sovereignty and dignity have been compromised.
Indonesia owes us an apology.Terjemahnya :“Besok, kita merayakan hari kemerdekaan.
Sementara media massa Indonesia jadi ‘kipas’, makin memanaskan sentimen anti-Malaysia.
Indonesia berutang kata maaf.

Jadi.. DAMAI!
Redemption Week
The Galaxy completed Monday’s training session at The Home Depot Center with a series of five-on-five games that yielded some impressive goals as well as clever passing and tactics from both sides. Today was the first training session leading up to Saturday’s game with the Chicago Fire and the team left no doubt that they are completely focused on winning the game and getting back to the form that has led them to the top of the league standings.
Today’s training session began with and extended warmup and a mix of drills that focused on fundamentals and precision passing that featured plenty of one-on-one instruction from Bruce Arena and Dave Sarachan.

David Beckham was running and cutting at full speed and looked impressive in five-on-five action and continues to prepare himself for a late season return with the team. He set up his teammates with some inch-perfect passes and also knocked home an impressive goal with a well placed shot past Josh Saunders. He even found time to share a laugh with Eddie Lewis on a throw-in midway through one game.

Gregg Berhalter continued with his running program in the hopes of returning to game action this weekend. He also stayed on the field after the training session to speak with Omar Gonzalez about defensive tactics and positioning and continues to mentor the young defender.
The five-on-five games maintained a furious pace throughout as both sides were attacking and counter-attacking constantly to create some impressive scoring opportunities. None of it fazed Donovan Ricketts who looked impressive as always with some diving saves and defensive play. He certainly faced plenty of powerful strikes during today’s training session including a Tristan Bowen screamer that he saved with ease.

The Galaxy will continue to train at The Home Depot Center through Thursday before leaving for Chicago with hopes of leveling the season series after a 3-2 loss at the beginning of August.
