Lie to Me Releases Poster Stills

Here’s a look at one of the strong contenders in the upcoming Battle of the May Trendies: Lie to Me‘s stars shoot a few stills as the drama gears up for its premiere in just over two weeks. In case you’re feeling as rushed as I am about this drama, you’re not imagining it. The drama that was supposed to follow Midas in the upcoming May Monday-Tuesday slot was originally Poseidon, which began production many moons ago… it just hasn’t made much progress since. Once Poseidon got put on indefinite hold, Lie to Me, originally slated for the post-Poseidon time slot, got bumped up. Talk about lighting a fire under your ass.

That pretty much guarantees that Lie to Me will be a live-shoot drama right out of the gate, whereas most shows have at least a head start (a few episodes in the can) when the first half of the episodes air. At least we know that stars Yoon Eun-hye and Kang Ji-hwan are no strangers to the game. Let’s hope their chemistry is the instant-spark kind, and not the kind requiring months of prep. Because, uh…that option’s out the window. But they look great together in the poster still, and I have no doubt they’ll knock it out of the park in the romance department.

All said, the production has done a pretty good job of releasing stills and what they can, in lieu of the steady stream of promotional materials that usually comes before a show for months, eventually tiring us all out with over-saturation. Hm. Maybe this is better!

Lee Bo-young Takes on New Weekend Drama

Lee Bo-young (Birth of the Rich) has signed on to her next drama, an MBC weekend production titled The Woman Who Doesn’t Lose. But maybe a better way to refer to it would be She Never Loses, since we’re full up on drama titles about men and women who can’t, want, or still want to do things. (Mostly marrying.)

She Never Loses is a success story of a late-20s divorced woman overcoming obstacles, in another example of the Candy narrative (sigh, another one). (I’ve had some confused questions about Candy, so the basic explanation is this: Candy is the heroine of a famous manhwa from the ’70s, whose M.O. was to be knocked down by life but bounce back cheerily. An orphan from a poor background, she was romanced by a couple dreamy heroes, making her a very popular example of a modern Cinderella. The story’s become such a pop-culture fixture that the “Candy type” has become a shorthand in dramas for poor, plucky heroines. You know. Her. In every drama ever.)

Lee Bo-young’s version of Candy is, of course, a bright and upbeat personality who is named, appropriately, Kang Jae-mi. (Jae-mi also happens to be the word for fun or interesting. Coincidence? I think not.)

The creative team behind the production are PD Joo Sung-woo (Goldfish, Chun-ja’s Happy Events) and writer Park Hyun-joo (My Precious You, Golden Bride). Given the tone of those series, I presume this drama will fall into the category of familiar weekend fare lighthearted, family-friendly, with smaller stories as Jae-mi goes about her daily struggles.

She Never Loses will complete its casting by May, and plans to begin shooting in June. It’ll air following Do You Hear My Heart?

Rewrite the English Title for You’ve Fallen For Me

Speak now or forever hold your peace! Here’s your chance to name the drama that has already undergone one name change, from Festival to You’ve Fallen For Me [넌 내게 반했어], which is now the Korean title of the drama.

But apparently one title is not enough, since the production company has decided to hold a second title contest, for a separate English title. And YOU get to do it! I know there are some very talented people ’round these parts, from the myriad of hilarious titles some of you threw out when Maids was being renamed.

You’ve Fallen For Me / Festival / Whatchoo Wanna Callit stars Jung Yong Hwa as a bad boy rocker with his band The Stupid, and Park Shin-hye as a classical musician training in traditional Korean instruments (think gayageum, the stringed instrument people play sitting down, wearing hanboks). One day, the girl who knows nothing of contemporary music gets dragged to a concert where she sees The Stupid rockin’ out, and the rest, as they say, is history. Song Chang-eui (yay!) will co-star as the broadway-producer-turned-director who will ignite their dreams.

Okay…now I have to come up with one. How about… Love me Stupid? For Whom the Gayageum Tolls? Yeah…I suck at this game. (I vote Stupid In Love. Or I'm With the Band. Okay, I suck at it too)

The drama, whatever its title, premieres Wednesday June 29 on MBC, following Best Love, and will be available simultaneously over at Drama Fever.

Actor Jeong Distressed Over Lover's Divorce

As news of 90s Kpop icon Seo Tai-ji, 39, and 34-year-old actress Lee Ji-ah's divorce has been causing a stir, many have turned their attention to actor Jeong Woo-seong, Lee's current boyfriend.

Jeong, 38, released a statement saying that he had not known about her marriage or of her divorce with the singer.

It's been only a couple of months since he had confirmed dating his "ATHENA" co-star.

"I was just on the phone with Jeong and he said that this is the first time that he has heard about any of this", said Kim In-hyuk, the head of the actor's agency Taurus Film, in a recent phone call with Sports Chosun.

Kim went on to say that while Jeong wished that none of this were true, he also wanted the truth to finally come out.

"If he had known of these events before, why would he have started a relationship with Lee?" he added. "I also hope that it's just a rumor but if it is true, then I want the parties involved to reveal whether the divorce suit is real, if they were really married, and if they have children or not".

It has been reported that Jeong and Lee have not been in contact after the news of the 5.5 billion won alimony and division property suit has come to light.

Many are wondering if the two will continue to have a relationship.

"I can't ask if they are going to still see each other to a man who just had his heart broken", Kim said in his final remarks. "This is something that needs to be sorted out after everything has been verified".

Info, Personel Baru U-Kiss Pengganti Alexander dan Kibum

Seperti diketahui, Alexander dan Kibum, “dipecat” manajemen NH Media dari U-Kiss. Setelah muncul berbagai spekulasi, pekan lalu NH Media mengumumkan pengganti mereka. Yakni, Hoon dan AJ.

Hun yang owok kelahiran 1991 ini tercatat sebagai mahasiswa

Universitas Dong Guk.Selain penampilan fisik Hoon cukup meyakinkan, NH Media memilih pria bertinggi 180 cm ini dengan pertimbangan kemampuannya di dunia musik yang baik. Hoon sudah tertarik dengan musik dan akting di usianya yang sangat dini. Ia juga telah melewati masa pelatihan akting dan menyanyi yang intensif bersama NH Media.

Oh ya, sebelumnya Hoon yang atlet taekwondo pernah berakting sebagai pengawal presiden di serial Athena.

“Anggota baru yang akan menggantikan Kim Kibum dan Alexander adalah Hoon. Banyak kebahagiaan kami rasakan selama ini, tapi kami rasa harus ada pergantian dalam tim. Setelah diskusi panjang, kami memutuskan mengganti personel (U-Kiss),” kata perwakilan NH Media.

Setelah diumumkan sebagai anggota U-Kiss terbaru, Hoon segera bergabung dalam kegiatan U-Kiss bulan ini.

Sehari setelah pengumuman bergabungnya Hoon di tubuh U-Kiss, NH Media mengumumkan personel baru U-Kiss yang kedua. Kali ini namanya sudah tak asing lagi bagi para pecinta K-pop. Ingat AJ, anggota grup Paran yang pernah datang ke Jakarta pada 2007?

Saat ini, Param sudah vakum karena beberapa anggotanya sedang wajib militer, sementara yang lain mempersiapkan diri berkarier solo. AJ semula dikabarkan akan melanjutkan sekolah sambil bersiap merilis debut solo. Namun magnae alias anggota termuda Paran ini memutuskan beralih ke U-Kiss.

Dalam episode kelima drama SBS "Midas", pada tanggal 8 Kim Do-hyeon (Jang Hyeok) memutuskan untuk pergi ke luar negeri dengan Yoo In-hye ( Kim Hee-ae). Ia memutuskan untuk belajar dari dia selama satu tahun. Lee Jeong-yeon  menahannya tapi gagal.

Yoo In-hye memiliki niat untuk memisahkan Jeong-yeon dari Do-hyeon. Kim Do-hyeon akan membuat umpan dan Lee Jeong-yeon tidak bisa menangkapnya.

Ada kasus di mana perempuan berubah menjadi jahat dalam drama dimana plutocrats berjuang untuk warisan itu. Mereka mencari kekayaan dalam rangka untuk membalas dendam pada orang-orang yang menyakiti mereka. Lee Jeong-yeon menunjukkan tanda-tanda ini. Keberadaan Yoo Myeong-joon (Noh Min-woo-I) menunjukkan itu.

Yoo Myeong-joon adalah putra dari selir dan ikan longgar. Dia mendekati Lee Jeong-yeon tapi tenang ditolak dan dipermalukan beberapa kali. Ini adalah formula dari seorang pria kaya dan seorang gadis biasa. Dia kini telah jatuh cinta Lee Jeong-yeon  dan mulai menunjukkan aspek yang sebenarnya. Lee Jeong-yeon mengabaikan dirinya tapi tidak dingin seperti yang dia lakukan sebelumnya.

Selain itu, ia berjanji untuk membantunya. Hari ini, ia mendapat janji warisan besar dari kakaknya Yoo In-hye. Dalam konflik Lee Jeong-yeon  yang marah dengan meninggalkan Kim Do-hyeon, peran Yoo Myeong-joon tampak pasti. Ia menunggu  Kim Do-hyeon  untuk pergi. Perhatiannya sedang tertumpu pada pilihan Lee Jeong-yeon.

Yoo In-na berubah menjadi penyanyi dalam konser Humming Urban Stereo

Aktris Yoo In-na akan berada di panggung secara langsung (live) sebagai penyanyi.

Dia akan berada di panggung bersama dengan Yozo, Lady Jane, Humming Girl, Sugar Floor dan ramai lagi dalam "Konser Humming Urban Stereo White Day" pada tanggal 12 di Women's University Dongdeok Culture Center.

Dia akan menyanyikan "You That Day". Seorang juru bicara untuk konser itu berkata, "Bagaimana dia akan terlihat di atas panggung secara live".

Sementara itu hari ini, para tamu akan menyanyi semua lagu-lagu hit seperti "Salad Anniversary", "Hawaiian Couple", "Insomnia", "Go Nuts" dan banyak lagi.
