Shaun Wright-Phillips's agent has confirmed that Newcastle have made an offer for his player.
While Fulham has made a loan move for the winger, Newcastle have made an enquiry to purchase him.
Manchester City who badly want to reduce their wage bill would obviously prefer to sell him.
It is believed a fee of around £7m should seal the deal for Wright-Phillips.
